Key Features of our housing needs surveys to measure need and mix for small sites and to inform neighbourhood planning:

Chris has worked on numerous parish level and neighbourhood level project to help local authorities to gain a better understanding of housing needs and local housing requirements for policy and investment purposes. Examples are:
  • Carmarthenshire County Council – rural communities study; and
  • East Suffolk District Council – 5 smaller parishes. 
Similarly Chris with the assistance of Nicola has worked on projects designed to understand housing needs in neighbourhood plan areas:
  • Northumberland County Council – 4 neighbourhood plan areas;
  • Leeds City Council – 6 neighbourhood plan areas; and
  • Wychavon District Council – impact of new build housing in rural areas.
Chris has also undertaken public consultation work for local authorities.
 
As a freelance:
  • working with tenants to assess the value added by the ALMO (Ashfield DC); and
  • working with tenants work towards forming a tenant federation (Sheffield City Council).
When working for market leading generic research companies:
  • focus groups in many topics including attitudes to shared ownership;
  • focus groups into housing needs of people with complex needs , disability needs and from a BAME background;
  • research into the effectiveness of children’s centres;
  • public consultation in relation to the relocation of a hospital.
